In school...

We've continued chugging right along with our schoolwork this summer. Isaac is VERY motivated to move up to "first grade" (whatever THAT means). Hehe. I told him that he's already reading like a first grader, but he is only half way through Kindergarten math. He now wants to finish up his math lessons (13 of them) very quickly. I am not going to let him go too quickly through it. But I'm okay with going at a faster than normal pace, if that's what he wants (and is capable of).

Naomi is excited to be doing Kindergarten work now too! :) Here are some things we've been doing over the past couple of weeks...

Working with sorting colors with Sarah. :)
Forest School Friday!
He's getting better at writing his numbers. :)
Finding (and capturing) crawdads.
She LOVES to feel included!
Physical education (aka GYMNASTICS). :) He's in the orange shirt on the right.
Getting super fast at reading these days!! :)
Working on adding doubles in math.
Working on that silly silent "e"!!
Word families!
Really started working more on sight words again, too.
Both kids seem to enjoy "school" so far. They LOVE learning new things and have a hunger for reading and books. We will continue a very informal schedule probably throughout the next year or two. Right now, it all seems to be working quite well for them and us all. I LOVE homeschooling and wouldn't trade it for the world!! :)

Here's a short video of Naomi reading and sorting the words into word families:
