8 weeks old

This weekend we traveled to Indy to visit with my side of the family and to attend a baby shower for my good friends Paula and Jamson, who are expecting quintuplets in the next several weeks!! The link to their blog (Quintastic Pregnancy) is on our page. Isaac did MUCH better in the car this trip (in fact...we didn't have to stop at all either way). Woo hoo! We think he has started smiling a bit, which is encouraging. And he definitely likes to talk. He is also rolling over. Check out our chubby little man:

Nicknames...

When he's happy, I refer to Isaac as my Little Love Bug. But when he just won't stop crying, we affectionately call him Sir Isaac Fussy-Butt! We at least get a good laugh out of it. Hehe. As we were getting dressed this morning, my little man decided to chat it up with me and I caught some of it on tape. He also thinks it's funny when he sneezes...and...well, so do we! :o) Enjoy!

Happy Easter!!

We made our first family trip out-of-town this weekend...to visit Kevin's side of the family in Fort Wayne. I would like to tell you that the 3 1/2 hour car ride was a breeze, but that just wasn't the case. The trip ended up taking 4 1/2 hours, and Isaac doesn't really care for long trips in the car. In fact, he let us know how he felt about it not only by screaming his head off, but also by having two MAJOR poop blow-outs on the way there. It was messy and loud, but we finally made it. And we had a great time visiting with family. :o) Here are some photos from the weekend...

crazy mommy fears

For those of you who do not have children, you may think I'm crazy. But those of you with little ones, will probably fully understand these wacky fears of mine. There are three of them (I'm sure there are more, but they probably fall under these categories): First, I am SO afraid that I will go to bed one night and wake up to find that my little guy has died in his sleep. My second fear is that I will somehow accidentally injure and/or kill him (like dropping him on the floor or something). And now my most recent fear is that someone is going to steal him. I think I got a little paranoid about having all these photos of him out on the Internet. He's the most precious thing in the world...and what if some crazy person decides that THEY want him!?! I have never been one to lock the doors to my home or car. I don't hold possessions and material things in high regard. I figure if someone is desperate enough to break-in to rob me, they must need the stuff much more than me. But my attitude about locking the doors has changed significantly since having a child. He is a gazillion times more valuable than anything in this house. And I want to do everything in my power to protect him. I have even started thinking that I want to install a high-class security system in our home. Kevin smiles at that and says, "Why don't we just start with locking our doors." Hehe. Good idea.

6 weeks old!

Isaac is six-weeks-old today! I can hardly believe it's already been that long. But then again, some days it feels like it's been much longer. Hehe. Our little dude has been dealing with some major reflux issues (started around 3 weeks). It's kind of sad, because his normal disposition is very contented, but with the reflux most of his waking hours are spent in pain...crying.

He has been on Zantac since Wednesday, and I think we're finally starting to see a difference. For the first time in a LONG time, he was a happy baby during his entire awake time this morning. It was SO nice to have our sweet baby boy back! Hopefully it keeps working. :o)

Puppy Love

Mona LOVES Baby Isaac. Oftentimes, she'll try to bring him a toy, hoping that he'll play with her. I keep promising her that he'll play with her one day...just not yet, but she doesn't quite get it. ;o) She can't get enough of him and showers him with LOTS of kisses. She even does it on command...see for yourself!

This weekend...

(From Isaac) My Aunt Kristin drove down in the blizzard this weekend just to see ME! And then my Grandpa Norman brought my Aunt Shelby and Uncle Austin on Sunday to visit too. My Aunts LOVED holding me...and I LOVED being held! :o) Here are some photos from this weekend:

5 weeks ago...

Happy One-Month Birthday!!

I can't believe it's already been one month! Isaac is doing very well. He is SUCH a contented baby. We are SO blessed! Here are a few recent photos...ENJOY! :o)

I got to see my grandpa Ober for the first time this weekend!

Healthy Boy!

We had our one-month check-up for our little guy this morning (even though we are a few days short of one month). "He looks GREAT," according to the pediatrician. We've been marveling at how big he is, but according to the growth charts he's actually pretty average. Right now, he weighs in at 10lbs, 12oz. and is 22 inches long. "On the leaner side." Now don't get us wrong...he still has all of his cute chubby rolls, but the bottom line...he's HEALTHY!! Not too big...and not too small. As for all the gassiness he's been having...well, that's probably (and hopefully) just normal baby stuff. So no worries there. Overall, it was a great appointment! Yay for a healthy baby boy!

Oh yes, and I almost forgot to mention that the doctor commented on Isaac's gorgeous blue eyes. Although most caucasian babies start out with dark blue eyes, he said that Isaac's are a really bright blue and that he'd be surprised if his eyes don't stay that way! So he did inherit SOMEthing from me! :o)
