PRAYER NEEDED...

This weekend was a difficult weekend for my friend Paula, who had the quintuplets on May 1st. They got a call at 3am Sunday morning, saying that Addison had developed necrotizing enterocolitis and was going to need surgery. You can read more about the condition by clicking on the link. Little Addy went into surgery around 8am, and came out fine. Doctors had to remove half of her small intestines and part of her large intestines, and now she still has a LONG recovery to endure.

They also learned later in the day that Gabriella (Addison's twin, and the smallest of the five) was put on a ventilator because her lungs are not functioning right, and her heart looks way bigger than it should be, so she may require heart surgery!! On top of all that, she is also beginning to show signs of having the same infection of the intestines that Addy has.

I think Ariel and Micah have also had some minor issues (sleep apnea, bradychardia, etc) over the past couple of days.

As you can imagine, Paula and Jamson are so stressed right now. They are spending so much time at the hospital and are struggling with how to even process all of this. Paula said that as she was holding little Addy before surgery, she just kept looking into her eyes, thinking that it may have been the last time she would hold her baby alive. And she may have to go through this again and again. The roller coaster of emotions is becoming quite overwhelming (and super exhausting).
