My sweet, sweet Naomi Grace. She is three years old. She weighs just over 25lbs, and is 35.75in tall. She wears a size 7 shoe, and is wearing mostly 18m clothes, but also has quite a few 24m and a couple of 12m outfits. She's itty bitty, cute as cute can be and just about the sweetest thing there is. When strangers see her, they can't help but smile. And when they hear her speak, they bubble over with joy.
She is delightful. Spunky. And full of life. She is extremely compassionate and cares about everyone. She is very outgoing and a great friend. She readily recognizes beauty and isn't afraid to let someone know that she LOVES their pretty dress. She is obsessed with labeling people as either boys or girls. She's PROUD to be a girl. You will rarely find Naomi in anything but a skirt. The girl SLEEPS in skirts. She likes pink, but will also tell you that her favorite color is green...and occasionally yellow. She prefers her left hand when drawing or writing...and even sometimes with eating. But she still switches back and forth.
She's got an incredible memory and surprises us when she brings up things from the past. When she's looking forward to something coming up she'll use the phrase "a couple whiles." For instance, "I know! In a couple whiles maybe Grandma can come to our house?!?" I smile every time. She is SO matter-of-fact when she speaks, often using her hands to emphasize what she's trying to say. Given her tiny frame, this just looks utterly adorable and makes us smile all the time.
She spends her days loving on her babies. She will tell you that she's "a tend (pretend) mommy...not a real mommy!" She ADORES her baby sister, but sometimes to a fault. She has surprised us with how rough and quite frankly mean she can be with her (kicking her, hitting her with toys, putting her feet in Sarah's face, etc). These little moments of aggressiveness are fleeting, but frustrating just the same. We are still working with Naomi's tendency to scream all the time. Her shrieks (mostly when big brother is bothering her) are ear-piercing.
She is still a little sweetie, though. She LOVES to be held, and enjoys sitting on our laps. (If we're sitting anywhere, you can bet Naomi is on her way to just sneak right into your lap). She is very affectionate and loves cuddling. She is extraordinarily good at playing by herself, and enjoys some downtime by herself each night before bed. When she gets tired after playing, she'll just climb into her bed, pull the covers up, and go to sleep. Precious. (And EASY!)
She has been completely potty-trained since February, and did it entirely on her own! We were amazed at how easy that was! She has gone through a phase recently of insisting that her name is not Naomi...that it is Naomi Grace. In fact, when people ask her what her name is, that's how she'll introduce herself. Maybe it's just a phase. But it may also just be her preference. We like it either way.
So that's her in a nutshell. What a blessing she is to our family!! :) We love her to pieces and look forward to watching her grow and develop over the next year!
